Zikura International College Joins Erasmus+ SUSTAIN Project

Feb 16, 2026

Zikura International College is proud to be a partner in SUSTAIN (Sustainable Universities for Society Through Action, Innovation, and Knowledge Networks), a three-year international project co-funded under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building for Higher Education programme.

The project is coordinated by Škoda Auto Vysoká škola and brings together partner institutions from Europe, Vietnam and the Maldives. The collaboration officially began with an online kick- off meeting in January 2026.

SUSTAIN focuses on strengthening universities’ “third mission”, their role in societal and socio-economic development. The project supports partner institutions in Vietnam and the Maldives to enhance institutional capacity, deepen stakeholder engagement, and integrate sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), and green solutions into governance, teaching, and community outreach.

For Zikura International College, participation in SUSTAIN aligns closely with its strategic plan to strengthen institutional capacity, expand internationalisation, and deepen community and industry engagement. The project reinforces Zikura’s commitment to embedding sustainability, inclusivity, and responsible governance across academic and operational practices, while enhancing its role in regional and national development.

Through this collaboration, Zikura will contribute to and benefit from shared frameworks, practical tools, and learning resources that support long-term societal impact, while strengthening its position as an active contributor to sustainable development in the Maldives.
